"Make this my icon" not working

I saw this thread (http://coppermine-gallery.com/forum/index.php?topic=26212.0) in the bugs section that got shutdown right-quick because "Make this my icon" not working in public categories "expected behavior" not a bug. That I can certainly understand.

Just a question: Has anyone figured out how to get "Make this my icon" text and checkbox *not* show up under "editOnePic.php" for public galleries? Would be nice to remove it if admins can't use it, and a forum search hasn't turned up anything.

Umm...  just don't output that option then. 

In editpics.php, in function form_options(), replace the else block:
