It was killing my browser, though. Having to load alllll those images at once during the batch browsing, as well as the slow, halting process of the actual ad itself was literally bringing my system to a halt.

Finally, I found a solution (semi-accidentally, too!). I did this with Firefox 1.5.

Step 1: Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Uncheck the box that says "Load Images With Page"
Step 2: Navigate through the batch uploader to the files. Select the album.
Step 3: Click "Batch Add Files" or whatever the button at the bottom is to start the process.
Step 4: Wait for the page to load. You'll notice that every image will say "Click Here to Reload The Image" or something like that.
Step 5: File -> Save As -> save it to your desktop or whereever
Step 6: Just walk away and wait. It's WAY faster now, and if you open the folder that will be created by firefox, and reload the view, you'll see the folder filling with blue OK .gifs.

Not recommended. There are modifications that will allow you to add large numbers of pics. Using the regular batch-add script to add 2000 pics in one go is not recommended and will overload most servers. Saving stuff to your desktop is not on the list of things you should do. I appreciate that you're ready to share your thoughts with the community, but you might want to post what coppermine version you used so we can move this thread to the proper board. I can't see how your method is suppossed to stop the server from being overloaded nor was I able to find out why you would save the html output to your desktop.

The CPGMassImport plugin can be adjusted to be as nice to the webserver as you want, and will refresh itself for days on end until the job gets done.
