I have a gallery for displaying paintings,
there is no sense registering new ppl,

can i disable it,
and i want links to galleris on the first page, i need no categories, or them not to show,

just the galleries, like water color, oil colour etc...

Nibbler

Then create only albums inside the root category (*no category*). In the future, read the documentation before posting and respect the "one question per thread" policy that you agreed to when signing up (board rules!).
Chose a better subject for your threads in the future as well; particularly when asking two questions there is little point in naming the thread "One question"... ::)

OK now i see albums no the home page, but i still see:

Category     Albums     Files
   User galleries
This category contains albums that belong to Coppermine users.

how do i remove this?

Farnsi

try to disallow the personal galleries for the users in the group-settings and delete all pics in the user categories or move them to your other albums.
the category "user gallery" should disappear, but it is not deleted and you still can see it in the category-admin area because it is an automatic generated category.
perhaps this works but i'm not sure, i never tested it.

If you disallowed users to have personal galleries and the user gallery still shows, delete all existing (empty) user galleries you have.
