bridging cpg 1.4.8 phpBB 2.0.21

hello all.  i have searched for 4 hours now, and none of the solutions, bridge files, or answered topics have solved my problems.  I'm bridging as follows:

Coppermine install: http://slimsmind.com/cmpgallery/
Forum install: http://slimsmind.com/forum/
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.8
Forum version: phpBB 2.0.21
Test user account: test / test

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://slimsmind.com/forum
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../forum/
Use post-based groups?:  0 

I have the same problem as many, many others.  I enable bridging, try to login on gallery page,  redirect to forum login, come back to gallery with no login having taken place.  i have cookies set to the same domain, cookie path set properly to '/'  but strangely have no cookie set with the phpbb prefix of phpbb2mysql showing in my cookies.  i can log into the forum, no problem.  i looked at my server side phpbb2018.inc.php file, thinking that it would be changed by running the bridge wizard, but no changes have been made.  maybe that's just not what goes down, though!  i'm not really sure how the bridge manager really works.  i have cleared cookies each time i try something new.  i'm stuck!!!  thanks in advance!

You have set your forum's cookie domain to http://slimsmind.com/forum/ which is not valid. Change it to .slimsmind.com

wow!  thanks for the instant reply!!!!!!!  worked perfect.  i thought it must be some simple oversight!  i am extremely appreciative!!  i was a bit confused, i guess.  strange though, that i could log in without being bridged.  how could it have been valid for the standalone version of phpBB?  i'd just like to know the mechanics of why this answer works!  thanks again.

phpbb propagates the session id in the url when cookies are not working properly. You may have noticed that you got an ?sid=... added to the url after your login when you had the problem. You can see the same effect if you disable cookies in your browser - phpbb can still log you in, but if you delete the sid from the url then you get logged out. Coppermine does not support this, it needs the cookie settings to be correct.

I have done the same,i can call phpBB login page through cpg
but then i can't see anything more !

I'm using cpm 1.4.9 and phpBB 2.0.21.
Maybe i have set wrong cookie domain in phpBB :   mysite.com without "." at begin ?
because the full nam of my site is http://mysite.com (without www) -> is that the reason ?

Or Cpg and phpBB must have the same SQL database name ?


Other question:
I have install cpg, but i can't see nowhere new user can register like in the demo site. Or is it the plugin feature ?

and i can integrate joomla 1.5 (only final version) to cpg1.4.10 later ? do ihave problem with joomla and/or sql later ?
