:'( Successfully installed my gallery with the help of my web administrator. When I tried to login, it gave me the message
*** Couldn't log in. Try again ***

Contacted my webadmin who gave me the following message:
The Coppermine Gallery application seems to have some problems running on our standard PHP Windows servers (probably because it was originally designed for Unix systems, and thus uses different permissions and calls than what is standard in Windows).

My question: is there anything I can do from my end to make it run?  ??? Thanks.

Sami

CPG doesn't have any major problem with windows server !
BTW post a link to your gallery and give us more info about your server setting (if you can)

And if you have a problem with admin login see this:

As Sami suggested: the recommendation by your webhost is wrong - Coppermine has not been designed with a particular operating system in mind. Permissions (on file system level) don't apply at all for the issues you're having. The only known issue on Windows driven servers is the browsable batch-add interface not working as expected on Windows-driven servers, which is not related at all to your ability to log in as admin in the first place. It's just a cosmetical issue - it's safe to forget about it for now.
There are various factors that interact with the ability to log in. Most often, client-sided issues apply: make sure that you don't have security apps running on your client that have paranoid cookie settings applied. Coppermine uses (operating system independent) cookies for authentification purposes.

Deepest thanks Sami and GauGau.  :)

I knew it! They're giving me a load of cr*p  >:( I have another site with the SAME host and have successfully installed CPG1410 by going through all your help files (REALLY a big help). For this other site of mine however, they can't seem to make it work - thus the load of cr*p explaining why.

My gallery is located at http://www.myscrapworks.com/coppermine1410/
I have PHP enabled in my hosting package and made my MySQL dbase using Helm. My web admin states Im in a windows server and not UNIX the first time I asked him why my CHMOD settings wont stick. I think Im being given the run around and they dont know how to address my problems that's why Im asking if I can do something from MY end. Any help would be much appreciated.

PS: This might sound stupid but I cant find the xxx_uesrs table from my gallery database. :-[ Thanks.

My webadmin seems to have found a way to address my issues and have even installed CPG1410 for other hosted sites to click and use via HELM. My gallery is now working just fine. :)
