oh excellent thanks -- that should be renamed to 'use forum groups' since I can enable user-post-based groups on the forum and that enables just a set of groups based on post count.

thanks jm

Glad that this issue is solved for you. I agree that the label is a bit misleading; it's there for historical reasons, as originally we had in mind to come up with an even more granular solution, but dropped the idea.

I didn't notice this part of your posting in the first place: it's mandatory that you upgrade - most recent version is currently cpg1.4.10; your version has serious security flaws!

i lied, i didn't change that after i copy/pasted it out of your 'what you need' topic -- oops! sorry.
im running 1.4.10

Another question -- now that thats done, the groups appear.  I go into the database and for the groups I want i set has_admin_access to 1 -- but they still can't get 'admin mode' how do i achieve this?

thanks
again

Only users that resides in the admin group of your BBS will be admins in your gallery. I would not recommend making users admins of your gallery that you don't trust to administer your forum as well. Don't mix up terms, admin mode is not the same as "being an admin" (permissions-wise). In the future, please respect the "one question per thread" policy you agreed to respect when signing up.
