SMF10 bridge and xp_upload

I have coppermine 1.4.10
SMF 1.1.1

Everything has been working perfectly. So I started testing with xp_upload.php.

NOTE: With the bridge disabled, xp_upload works just fine. I can login using the XP wizzard, upload files, create new albums and upload files at the same time. etc.

However, with the SMF bridge enabled:

1) I can not login using the XP wizzard.  NO matter what I do, I get 'invalid login'.

2) Another problem is that if you try to create a new album when uploading a picture, the new album will be created, however the picture will not be uploaded.  There are no error messages when enabling debug output, etc.  The XP Wizzard reports success, however the images are not uploaded, nor stored in the album which was just created.  IF the bridge is disabled, this function works perfectly.


So how should I procede?  I'm sure this is an interaction with xp_upload and the bridge manager, but I'm not sure how to start. Since this seems to be an issue with briding, and not with xp_upload (since disabling the bridge causes xp_upload to work ok), I thought it was most appropriate to ask here for help.

I'm not sure what to post for information either, since there are no error messages displayed with debug output on and no xp_publish.log file is created at all.

There are some work arounds:

1) Force users to login BEFORE trying to use the XP wizzard.
2) If a user wants to create a new album, then they must attempt their upload twice.

Please provide suggestions. If someone would like to have a test account or to take a look, let me know and I'll PM you the details.

It's a known problem. The wizzard is not capable of logging you into your forum.

If anyone is working on this, and you need someone to test, please let me know.

On the other hand, if no one is working on this, but someone has the knowledge of how the bridge system works between SMF and Coppermine, I'd be happy to try to improve it. I haven't had any experience with coding for SMF or Coppermine, but I'd be happy to learn.

After I learn how the bridge system works, I'll look into it if no one else answers.
