ECARD error "Couldn't get mail server response codes&qu

I wanted to know if any one could help me.

When I try to send an ecard card it comes up with the error "Couldn't get mail server response codes"

Im using apache as my websever on Windows XP.  I think it has something to with apache because my friend is running the same system but with a different webserver software. I changed the  mailer.inc file  smtp server is smpt-server.nc.rr.com.

Any clue on what im doing wrong? Thanks

Is the smtp service up-and running on your machine? Can you send emails from other applications that use your smtp?

I was using roadruner as the smtp. I ended up just install a mail server and that took care of it. Thanks for help
