Create a Thumbnail of a PDF Document

Hello,

I need to programmatically create a thumbnail image of a PDF document during the upload process.  My hosting provider is using Linux and I found only one third party library that will create a thumbnail of a PDF and run on Linux.  That library is the ImageMagick one.

The problem is that the hosting provider will not install that library on their shared servers.  Does anybody know of another library that will run on the LAMP stack to create a thumbnail of a pdf?
