Corrupted photo?

Hey I'm having trouble uploading certain images to my gallery. When I batch-add them, on the page where you select the album, the thumbnails come up and there are boxes you tick to select the images you want to pace in that album.

The thing is, the thumbnails come up black for me, and even when I hit the button to place in it the album, the OK button doesnt appear, thereis a cross, and when I click it it says the image is corruptedor can't be handled by the GD library. how do i solve this?

Do exactly as suggested in the upload troubleshooting of the docs. Moving from misc to uploads sub-board.
