Hi, I'm new to the board so I hope someone can help me with this problem.

When I try to batch add files, I get a message saying:
QuoteWarning: the script can't write in this directory, you need to change its mode to 755 or 777 before trying to add the files !

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Joachim Müller

Yes: read the permissions section of the docs and do as suggested there. The albums folder and everything within it needs to be writable for the script.

Albums, Edit, Userpics and the Include folder all have permissions of 777. The only way I can batch add files is if the folder with the pics in it is chmoded to 777 but is there another way to get this working?

ive got 4 other coppermine galleries and have never had this problem.

QuoteThe albums folder and everything within it

Meaning that if you create a new folder within Albums you also should chmod that new folder to 777 otherwise the picture you upload into that folder will not be processed by batch add properly.

chmod that new folder to 777.

What about 755, will that not work?
Sorry for double post by the way.

Depends on your server setup: may work on some servers, doesn't work on others. This is being explained in detail in the permissions section of the docs that I have already refered to. Did you do as suggested and read it? If yes: re-read extra carefully. If no: do so now - read it! We're reluctant to explain this over and over again, as it is not related to coppermine, but entirely to server setup.
