Uploading several hundred pictures

I recently installed Coppermine on my Apache server. Everything is working OK, but I would like to copy all my pictures into my album in one operation, insted of uploading one and one picture.

I have tried a number of different aproaches to this. I found the /albums directory, and created a folder called pictures. After having copied all the pictures into the folder, I didn't find either the album nor the pictures i Coppermine.

What do I to to make this work?

log in as admin into coppermine and use the batch-add function.
