phpbb and coppermine username bridge only

After installing cpg some users suggested i bridge phpbb and gallery. so i tried it, after some problems i managed to bridge the two system, but im not satisfied

after clicking the login button, it redirect to the phpbb login, which i dont like, because my designs of phpbb and coppermine are totaly different..

now, is there a way to bridge coppermine and phpbb with just usernames and password... so on the outside, i would seems that coppermine runs as standalone, but it would login with the phpbb usernames and passwords?

i used google and the forum search but i didnt found a similar thread...
