I have tried to do this bridging between my forum and the coppermine gallery several times, various ways an still it will not cooperate with me.

cpg version 1.4.10
smf version 1.1.2

site url: http dreamslayerartworks.com/dungeon/index.php
gallery url: http:www.dreamslayerartworks.com/dungeon/gallery/index.php

In bridge manager:

Writing to database: short_name | smf10

site url:(different ways tried)
http://www.dreamslayerartworks.com/gallery/config.php
http://www.dreamslayerartworks.com/dungeon/Settings.php
http://www.dreamslayerartworks.com/dungeon

relative path to BBS config file (various ways tried):
http://www.dreamslayerartworks.com/dungeon/Settings.php
/dungeon/Settings.php
/gallery/config.php
../dungeon
../../../

Use post-based groups?: not asked for this yet

click next then get:

Writing to database: full_forum_url | http://www.dreamslayerartworks.com/dungeon/ (or whichever url I used at the time)

Writing to database: relative_path_to_config_file | ../../../ (or whichever i entered)

::You need to correct these errors before you can continue. Go to the previous screen.::
• ../../../Settings.php doesn't exist. Correct the value you entered for Relative Path to your BBS's config file.

then the back button becasue it will not let me go anyfurther.

I have looked onto the server and the Settings.php does exist, there is a config file in the coppermine folder also.

I hope I have given you all the relative info you need.

Sorry for not answering sooner but you see....I am determined ...LOL

I have been trying it off and on all month and no matter what I do it will not bridge. I have come to the conclusion that the bridge is made for an older version of SMF software and I am using the latest one. I suppose the alternative would be to install the older version...integrate...then update but for now we have opted to just have everyone register to both the forum and gallery.

Thanks for trying.

The existing SMF bridge works fine for the most recent SMG version (smf1.1.2). That's what we use here as well (this forum is bridged to the demo). No reason to give up.

angelsfire

OK sugar...but then I shall give it another go after we get everything moved to the smf forums and shutdown the others...that way I won't be distracted...you know novices need to concentrate or the forum dies.

YAY!!!

Just an update for the saga of how the integrations will not work.....IT INTEGRATED!

I tried it again just now, doing the same things I did since day one but it seems to like me now. The gallery is integrated into 1 of my forums. I even tested with registering a new username after logiing out of course. The memberlist on the gallery now sends me to the forum memberlist.

Now for my next question before I try to integrate the other gallery.

It is a combined gallery for 3 forums, the files are stored on only 1 database, will I be able to integrate it to all 3 forums or will I only be able to integrate it with the one that holds the db's.

Thanks guys for helping me thus far.

You can only bridge Coppermine to one BBS. If the other BBS apps sync with each other, then fine. Otherwise, you can't accomplish this. You can not bridge Coppermine to two apps.
