I am new to coppermine as well as a newbie in coding etc
I had replaced the smilies in coppermine...keeping the same file names, but the smilies are a touch larger in size/pixels....therefore when displayed in the frame for the smilies in the comment area, they look distorted.
(https://coppermine-gallery.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg177.imageshack.us%2Fimg177%2F9027%2Fsamplepk8.th.jpg&hash=fcdd4da76a9c74e2ea39ede7d51039dfa750b49f)
I tried increasing the width of the 'view' but it really didnt fix it a whole lot.
So I am wondering, if it is possible to be able to alter the table the smilies are in....in looking, i cannot figgure what file that I would  use do this or is it possible...any help or answer to this would be appreciated....
my site url and to show you the problem is  http://melsgraphics.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-748

Can't see the smilies without an account. Is this related to pnCPG in any way or did you just post here accidentally?

im sorry, i had forgotten about that...my bad.  my forum which isnt open yet is intrgrated to the gallery...i just set the permissions so that guests can comment now so you should be able to see the smilies now...they are also in the screen shot i posted.  sorry for my ignorance, i didnt know if this was where i was to post this question  or not. :-\

First of all, update your gallery. The original smilies are 15px and your new ones are 20px. Edit include/smilies.inc.php and change the dimensions from 15 to 20.

...and while you're at it: your theme is not valid HTML, so you should disable the vanity display (config setting).

vanity display is disabled, thanks fer remindin me. ;)

I found the proper file to change the dimensions of the smilies, thanks so much for showin me where; to be exact  the file is /public_html/gallery/include/smilies.inc.php incase other newbies are looking.

I changed the dimensions to 18, which is fine for the smallest of smilies i have, the only problem now is the larger ones remain distorted...if i change the dimensions to allow for the larger ones to look OK, the smaller ones stretch to unreal porportions and thats not good as well.
Is there any possibility for something to be added to the php code to allow different sized smilies to be used there or is that not an option.
Just wondering if anyone would be able to help or answer that
thank-you

Nibbler

Yes, you can leave out the height and width parameters completely.

The path for the file varies depending on server configuration and where you installed the gallery; only the include/smilies.inc.php part will be the same for everyone.
