Hi, i have a problem...i made a website for a friend some time ago and i completely deleted it and uploaded a new version.
After this i installed the new cpg version we are now trying to move the pictures from the old database to the new one.
The text and filenames are visible but the pictures are not, it only shows the red crosses.
What am i doing wrong, please help.

Greets Jeroen.
ps im from holland so forgive me if my english is a bit poor...

You probably didn't upload the files. Post a link to your gallery.

Nibbler

Right, the pictures are not uploaded to the server.

Jeroen_natas

OK so if i understand u correctly the pictures all have to be uploaded again from the computer to the server...because they were uploaded before we installed cpg1.4...
in the database it also shows file name, size, width and height and so on.....

Nibbler

The files are not stored in the database, they are in the albums folder. If you deleted that then you don't have the pictures any more. If you have them somewhere else on the server or your PC then move/upload them. When you update your gallery you should follow the update instructions we provide.

Jeroen_natas

OK i`m going to try that tomorrow. thanks for the help :)

how can i upload the pictures again? must i use the upload function in coppermine, or is there another way?

Joachim Müller

Restore them exactly in the same place that they used to reside, with the same naming scheme. If you can't remember that (i.e. if you don't have a valid file backup), then you're stuck. Delete all reference to the files that you don't have any longer from the database, then start over by uploading the files.
