I receive the error message

The previous file could not be placed
you have succesfully placed all the files

however nothing loads into the albums

First of all: why do you start your gallery with an outdated version? You're running cpg1.4.10, while the most recent stable release is cpg1.4.12. Upgrading (as suggested in the docs) is mandatory.

Actual error message is

Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image

Did you search the board for the error message you got? The thread "uploading files" should cover all possible reasons for the error message and ways to fix it.

The first line of the error message

The file 'albums/userpics/Beispiel.jpg' can't be inserted in the album

indicates that you tried enabling silly_safe_mode: make sure that you actually have safe mode on your server (checking phpinfo). If you don't have safe mode enabled, turn silly_safe_mode off.

Shouting "bug" is not a bright idea neither, as it makes supporters reluctant to help you. This is not a bug (a problem that lies in coppermine's code), but an issue caused by you (improper server setup).
