Batch Upload Problem...

I seem to have a very similar problem.
When I try to upload a jpg file the initial upload seems fine then I click on continue and I get an error : "Error 500 - Internal Server Error"
I'm using 1and1.com
When I try the batch upload I upload file to a new folder under albums (not userpics) with 777 permision, the upload of the pics via ftp goes fine with files even as large as 3Mb.  I have my settings in coppermine set at 5000Kb. but when I start the batch transfer I don't get thumbnails for any file larger than about 300kb.  then when I click on "insert selected files" the reult icon is a blank image.  No pics go into the albums.
I'm not sure if this is a php.ini problem because I don't know how to edit that file or where it is.
any help please.

You're using Menalto Gallery, not Coppermine. Seek support from Menalto, not from us. Locking.
