Picture sizing - fit to screen

This is my first post so please be gentle...  I have searched for a solution but can't find it anywhere.  Some of the pictures that I upload are quite large resolution.  When I open a picture by clicking on the thunbnail it opens up full size and, therefore, I have to scroll around to view it.  Is there a way, other that resizing my pictures, that will open the picture in full view to fit the screen ?
