Hi Coppermine.

First of all I would like to say thanks for a really great system. I've been using Coppermine for about a year now, and I love it.

However I'm now having problems when Batch Adding files. I've read through all the sugested forums, but I still can't get it to work. I hope you can help me?

Here is my problem:

-  I upload my new pictures with BulletProof FTP software to a new directory in my Album folder.
-  I create a new Album in an already existing Catagory.
-  I now select "Batch Add Files".
-  I select the directory in where my new files have been uploaded, and select Ok.
-  I now select the album where in i want my new pictures added, and then press the button "Insert selected files".
-  The system thinks for a second and then returns me to the Select Directory page. No files are added and i start over. The same thing keeps happening.

The strange thing is that this has never happened before, and when I try to test with some older pictures that I've had no issue adding in the past, the same thing happens. However for some pictures, there are no problems.

I have tried changing my server permissions, but this doesn't work. Also bare in mind that I've never had this problem before. The issue has come out of nowhere.

I have made a test user:

Website:   www.chilled.dk
User:        test
Pass:        test

Pictures that need adding:    chilledgalleri/begivenheder/foedselsdage/johansen/25_aar/

into album:  Johansen>25

I really hope someone can help me. If you need more information or if I need to do something please let me know.

Kind regards!  :)

That is a script time out issue
Try to upload less files at the same time
First try with 2~5 files and then if it goes try bigger number

You may need to use CPGMassImport plugin

Hey Sami.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

I've tried uploading less files at a time, but when i get to to file number around 50, then i cant ad any files.

The thing is that I've never had any trouble adding files before. I have albums with aver 400 files which I've batch added without any problems.

Sami

Yes , I know , it happens when your server's administrator change the php configuration
did you try plugin ?

No sorry, I havent tried it yet.

So you'øre saying that my Webhost has changed something, so I cant add files normally with Batch Adding.

What does the MassImport plugin do? I've just tried it and couldn't quite figure it out.

storebatfar

When I try to use the MassImport plug-in, it says that there are no files in the subdirectory I choose. I've tried some different directories, but still the same ??

Sami

Sorry as suggested under plugin's thread support for that plugin goes somewhere else ....

So you're saying that when you reach around 50 files in that album then you can't add even one file to it anymore ?

Its weird... For some directories i can ad as normal, but for most of them I can only add around 10 at a time, and this works fine until ive added around 50 files, then I cant add any more.

storebatfar

I've written a message to my Webhost, asking if they have changed any php settings... anything else I can do??

storebatfar

Hi again...

Just got a reply from my webhost. He says that it could be a result refering to a recent PHP upgrade to version 4.4.7 ??

He is asking me for what type of error im experiancing??

What does he need to change?

Sami

max_execution_time should be 60 or  higher depends on your server and your files number
read this for more info

Hi again Sami, and thank you again for getting back to me so quickly.

I've made at phpinfo.php test on my server, and the value for max_execution_time is 120.

Is this still the problem ??

Sami

Could be, depends on your file size , number and CPU power
Try to increase the value and see what's happening.
