hiya, im curious if there is anyway i to setup a program, or some sort of mod, to check for duplicates via basic means? not just names, but a normal pixel comparison and such, to help isolate duplicates as we add pictures? real pain having to redo gallerys just to check for duplicates! :)

Search the board for previous discussion about this. Checking for identical files is easy via file size and dimensions or a hash of the file, but checking for images that have been converted between formats or resized takes you into the realm of AI which is more than you can expect from a web app.

also sorry for my poor description of what i ment, but i dont mean literally having the server look at each pic by pic comparing, but some "process" that can check aspects of pictures and find duplicates, as discussed in those threads, i take it no such "code or option" has been done, so it cannot be done.

I'm sure it can be done, it's just considerably easier to click delete on the duplicates than it is to create a script.
