OK. I tested Coppermine and things worked fine. I then backed up the database and Albums from the site and installed Simple Machines and tested that and it worked fine. However if I Enable integration/bridging I get the following error from Coppermine: Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to UDB database !

MySQL said:

And I am unable to use the website. I was fortunate enough not to have closed down the Enable integration control panel and was able to disable the integration. Although Coppermine works as it did the forum now has the following error: Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

I've done something really bad haven't I?

Sorry about this everyone..... can you help please?
Regards,
Steff

As Mysql database didn't give me a reason why Coppermine couldn't connect... I've decided that maybe a file uploaded for the forum may be corrupt. I'm going to reinstall the Simple Machine forum and try to bridge it again..... It's worth a try I think..... I'll post the results shortly.
Thanks for looking.

Steff

Ok I've reinstalled Simple Machine in the forum directory and created new tables in the database. SMF is working fine. and so is Coppermine. I have used the bridge wizard successfully but when I try to access my site I get this error :
Critical error
There was an error while processing a database query

I can see the Coppermine template but no data, and I cannot access admin or anything else. However, I can still use the forum if I type in the full URL.... any ideas?

Thanks,
Steff

Ok... solved that set of problems. Turns out to be a corrupt settings.php Anyway this time the bridging was successful ??? and both Coppermine and SMF work well together without errors....... However When I log into Coppermine I get the Forum login screen instead and ideas please? ???

Sorry:

I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and SMF:
When I try to log in to Coppermine I get redirected to the forum Login

Coppermine install: http://www.picturepenzance.co.uk/
Forum install: http://www.picturepenzance.co.uk/forum
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.15
Forum version: SMF 1.1.4
Test user account: Test / Hello

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://www.picturepenzance.co.uk/forum
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  forum/
Use post-based groups?:  0

Hope the above helps

Either be consistent with your use of the www. prefix or enable subdomain independent cookies in SMF.

Halfhidden

OK... I've enabled sub domain independent cookies in SMF and saved the changes. But still get the same result.

Steff

Oh!  :-[ I'll remember that.... Thanks for your support. I'll try my best to resolve issues with a bit of common sense as well next time.
Obviously your suggestion worked!
Thanks for your time and effort on this.

Coppermine version: cpg1.4.15
Probably not: cpg1.4.15 hasn't been released yet. You have cpg1.4.14
