I would like to export category with complete content from one coppermine galery to another.
Is there any possibilty to do it with albums or even categories somehow different than uploading pictures and building albums from begining?

Slaven

Thank you for your attention, as i need it a lot :-).
But as i can see that's the way to move complete gallery but not the single category or album between two galeries...

- maybe if i copy some table in base and copy directory that holds pictures of category it will make the job but i'm unsure is it possible are there some other consequences to the source or destination gallery???

Nibbler

You can't do that easily. You'd need to change the category, album, pid numbers etc. so they don't collide.

Slaven

Hi, that means that is that way even more complicated then to build a new category in other gallery from begining.
So conclusion may be that it's imposible until some new code is made in some newer version of coppermine (if there is good background in existing source for that).
Any other idea?

Nibbler thaks alot for your contribution, I apreciate it a lot!

So, as i'm now buliding gallery with different ctegoryes which can (and probably will be) presented as or at different independent galeries on other sites (as they grew enough) what is your suggestion, what should i do now to spare me of problems later?

Slaven

I've forget to say thank you Gau Gau for your last reply  :-[

But please people some suggestion....

The gallerie i'm talking about will grow fast and i'm talking about few hundred pictures per category and all what comes whit that.
I am thinking should i install a few different galleries and connect them somehow at the main page but the problem will appear with usernames and searching through them. So any links of solving any of those problems please or an other idea?

thanks  lot to all of you!

Slaven

Please don't give me some - karma if you find that here are some more questions in past replay as it's still yust thinking fase where to go an if there's no other way shure i'll open a new topic. Thx

We have a strict "one question per thread" policy that you agreed to respect when signing up. Your initial question has been answered, so your second question is invalid. Anyway: creating different galleries is silly and not an option. Uploads go into albums, not categories. I suggest you better get familiar with coppermine first and read the docs before posting any more questions. Meta discussions about karma will only result in more negative karma, so don't.
