HI!
Forgive me for my bad English.

I have problem with Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.13. When i moved gallery from *nix server on win server (2003) there was a problem. All pictures with russian names have ceased to be displayed, but on server they are. with english pictures no problem.

Can you help me?

Joachim Müller

1) Your gallery is outdated. cpg1.4.16 is the most recent stable release. Upgrade
2) How is this related to pnCPG?
3) Posting a link to your gallery might help

I apologize, that has written not in that section, has not oriented. Can move to the necessary section?

Do a right-click, properties on one of the broken thumbnails, copy the URL of the thumbnail and then paste it into the address bar of your browser. I did so for http://foto.ducat.kz/albums/userpics/10270/thumb_%EB.jpg (which is the transcription for http://foto.ducat.kz/albums/userpics/10270/thumb_л.jpg) and (not very surprisingly) I get a 403 forbidden error. This is related to webserver setup, so you better ask you webhost. Using non-latin chars is a bad idea imo - the web has been designed with ASCII/latin in mind. Everything that has been done so far to allow other charsets will cause issues, so if you want to play save, use latin characters only for file and folder names. I'm aware that on the Russian-spoken market, latin chars are not very popular, but embrace the facts: the www and most stuff related to it has been invented by people who spoke English and never imagined that computers would one day be capable to use another charset than latin.
If you can't change to latin file names, do as suggested and review your server setup.
