cant access index.php

i have a this error when i go to the url of my photogallery and i cant log in. is it the server's problem or do i need to reinstall or upgrade my version of coppermine? i have cpg 1414.the following is the error i get
Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'mysql' (61)

Post a link to your gallery for a start. Don't re-install. If your mysql database details changed, you'll need to reflect the changes by editing include/config.inc.php
If this is not the case, ask your webhost for support.
