I am considering giving up trying to bridge Coppermine and PHPBB3...   and running Coppermine alone.

I turned off my bridge and all the personal albums disappeared.   All the photos moved into one account.

Does anybody know if I can turn off bridge, and save the existing personal albums for my members?   Can I create new accounts from within Coppermine, so when i turn off bridge the photos are sorted correctly.   or if I turn off bridge, can I got back in and manually move all the photos back into personal albums for my members.   or when My members create new accounts from within Coppermine (with the exact same usernames), will the existing photos no where to go...

I am ready to ditch the bridge, but hate to loose all the personal albums for my members.

Bridging to phpbb3 goes unsupported. What you describe doesn't happen when using one of the supported bridges...

Sorry, my question is can I run Copper Mine without bridging to anybody?   Is there a way to do it and save, or re-enter the usernames and passwords in its own system?

Yes, that's the default. Regular bridging is being undone using the bridge manager, as suggested in the corresponding docs section. Can't tell you how to accomplish this using the phpbb3-bridge, as I'm not familiar with it. Basically, you need to undo the bridging you perfomed.
