Guess this is really a skin-request:

I would like to exchange the categories/album thumbnails into a folder structure located in a left frame. When I choose a specific album folder, the album thumbnails appear including basic facts. And a click on a thumbnail results in a fullsize picture with all available data
The use would be for a collection of old photos, picture postcards etc.

afaik there's no such "skin" available for coppermine (we actually call this "theme" in coppermine), and I doubt this can be done with modifications of the theme alone - I guess such a hack would require code modifications of the coppermine core as well. Using frames seems somewhat "outdated" for me, since there are a lot of drawbacks frames have.
