I'm new and i need a bit of help

So, i really want to start a community photo gallery, but i don't understand much tech lingo beyond basic HTML. i'm very willing to learn though!

what are the first steps to having a site like this? is it getting a host? can anyone direct me to a step by step way to creating a community photo gallery using coppermine?

Did you read the documentation that is supplied on this site ?

http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#what it explains the basic stuff needed in order to run a cpg site.

If what is being said there is abracadabra to you get a friend to help you out or if you don't have any  see to the Freelancer board on this forum to see if anyone is willing to help out. Basicly we do support for cpg, not on how-to-setup-my-website questions.

To answer your question about getting host.. absolutely nescesary. Do a search on the board, there are a number of good hosts around on which cpg runs perfectly.
