how to get rid of word "anon"

I have my comments set so that guest can leave comments, hoping they would use their name / alias......but it seems that they tend to forget to do such a thing because the word "anon" is displayed in the Name box.
Can I get rid of that "anon" so the box is empty?.....how do I do this and what script file to look for it?
