i get the error "no new image" when using the batch upload. uploading through "upload file" in the navigation bar works fine with the same files. I've have read the docs and other posts with this error and tried everything but nothing seems to clear it up, my permissions are also correct. I have tried .png files and .swf files.

ive increased filesize allowances, and usergroup quotas as well as changed themes, non of these are affecting the batch upload. debugging mode is on for everybody. I do not understand php.

gallery:
1.4.21
GD 2.0.34 (but imagick 2.2.2 is available)

server:
Linux
Apache version  2.2.10 (Unix)
MySQL version 5.0.67
PHP version 5.2.6
Perl version  5.8.8
Kernel version 2.6.18-92.el5

username: testuser
password: testing
usergroup: testusers

i also run a second gallery and word press (which work fine) on the database as hosting package only has the one.

any other soloutions.

just realised i used the wrong wording the error is "No new file was found"

I tried your gallery, couldn't log in, didn't see debug.... :)

darlaslilgirl

ive just tried the link above, i can see the debug when not logged in and on the testuser account when logged into it

I was able to upload two small files, the first one went into an  album you created. It then was out of my control. When I created another album for another picture it stayed under my control. You might want to check the properties of the albums you are working with now. I didn't see any problem with the second file at all.

darlaslilgirl

ive changed that so the user retains control of the image, but i still cant batch upload

Joe Carver

So you are saying that after you FTP a bunch of files into folders in your albums directory that when you click on batch add files there are no folders to open and files within? If not then maybe check that your album directory has the right permissions (in the docs) and also you could run both the update database and check versions tools.

darlaslilgirl

after ive used ftp to get the images into my directory folders, i click batch add files, select the directory i want and then get the warning; see attached screenshot. here is the deep link to my images: http://immortal-spark.co.uk/gallery/albums/amfilms/ the .gif .png and .swf files were for test  batch uploads.

Going to http://immortal-spark.co.uk/gallery/albums/ in your browser crashes the server (500 internal server error), so you should take care of that first. Will probably cure your batch-add issues as well. Ask your webhost why accessing http://immortal-spark.co.uk/gallery/albums/ crashes the server in mid-air.

darlaslilgirl

on your adivce ive contacted my host and they cleared up the server crash, ive cleared my cache but stilll cant batch upload to the gallery.

What method did you set coppermine's config to?

I was able to http-upload just fine (see http://immortal-spark.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-10), so let's test this with some known-good standard jpeg files. Please download the image I just uploaded for testing purposes to your client and then FTP-upload that file to http://immortal-spark.co.uk/gallery/albums/amfilms/
Then please PM me admin details.

darlaslilgirl

coppermine config is set to GD2, the flower image is in the folder. im going to pm you the account details now as well. thanks for all your help so far.

You have a byte-order-mark showing through on all your pages - I guess that you have edited your files with an editor that is not fit for the job. Another possible culprit may be funny uploader apps. Please review the forum for similar cases and what you can do.
I'm not sure if this is the cause for your issues.
I have as well edited your config using the admin account you PMed me to change some settings that you have set to senselessly high values, but that din't make the batch-add issue go away, nor did toggling the batch-add interface help.
