I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and Vbulletin 3.8.1:

Last January, my server crashed and I was forced to retrieve all the information in a rather unorthodox way, with the help of a programer on Contribs.org, I was able to get the forum back up. I attempted to rebridge the gallery by recreating all the proper permissions listed in the documentation, and was able to get the gallery to work without the bridging. Once bridged, the user was asked to login and the site would be redirected to the home page of my forum (which the user is already logged in and it becomes an endless loop of trying to log in. I then noticed while having the gallery unbridged, I would have users signing up. I then disabled the gallery to stop people from posting and now I can't even get into the gallery to re-enable it.

Coppermine install: http://www.paisans.org/images/gallery
Forum install: http://www.paisans.org/forums
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.? don't remember I can't check it
Forum version: vbulletin 3.8.1
Test user account: crashtestdummy / h3lpm3

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://www.paisans.org/forums (or if I recall correctly) ../../forums
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../../
Use post-based groups?:  0  (I don't remember what this means please enlighten me) If this means did I have a policy who can post? then yes only vbulletin users can post.

Note the db was saved and proper permissions were given

Also Is it possible to upgrade even if the gallery is disabled? I don't want to create anymore problems.

Please contact me for admin rights if needed.

You have 1.4.21, so update following the instructions in the manual. Also, you didn't set up the bridge properly. You need to set the forum's cookie path to / and maybe remove the cookie prefix. What bridge file are you using?

OK I just recovered by reading this http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=35008.0
That allowed me to access the gallery and unbridge the gallery.

Where do I find the forums cookie path? I found the coppermine cookie path and it is set to /
As for the bridge files? Can you please explain? I don't think I'm understanding what you are asking.
I'm using the Vbulletin 3.0 bridge configuration, is that what you are asking me?

Nibbler

Yeah, that's ok. The forum cookie path should be a setting somewhere in vb's configuration pages.

socalrico

OK I followed every direction, bridged the gallery with vb now when I try to go to the gallery, it redirects me to my forum
What am I doing wrong? Please Help!

Nibbler

Cookie path is still not set correctly. The redirect happens because you have set the gallery to be for registered users only.

socalrico

OK I'm banging my head at this point.

reset back to default config, and then made changes accordingly.

I've bridged it and it is allowing me to view the gallery, but now I can't upload. you click login and it takes you to the forum home page.

I tried doing this http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#integrating_steps_sync_start
and I get an accessed denied. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Nibbler

Stop messing about with other things and just set the cookie path as instructed.

If you still have issues, why did you flag this thread as "solved"?

socalrico

OK I've done everything you have asked.

Read the documentation
followed directions from the documentation
Changed the cookie settings in Vb

It's still doing the same thing.

I didn't flag it as solved.

Joachim Müller

Only you as thread starter and I as board admin are capable to do that. I'm 100% sure that I haven't. Only possible conclusion: nobody has done that and some electrons have run havoc ;D. Whatever... ::)

Nibbler

Seems to be working now. Clear your cookies.

socalrico

Ha! It's funny, I was just about to report that I cleared my cookies and that it works.

Thanks for your time and assistance.

Cheers!
