I used to upload pictures of about 1 MB size and 2048 x 1536 px. But now it throws "Error 500 - Internal server error" while uploading the same image.
I tried one picture of size 995 KB with 2048 x 1536 px and upload failed. I lowered the resolution to 1500 x 1200 px but with same size 995KB and upload worked fine. I am not able to figure out what had changed, which is making the upload with the pixel size of 2048 x 1536 px failing. I already have lot of photos with same pixel resolution which I uploaded succefully, but no more.

Your host probably reduced your resource limits.
