[Closed]: Installing msaccess or sql db on coppermine

I am rather confused by a task i took on.
I have coppermine running on a clients domain.
It is a gallery containing info in a long list.

My task is to add another list on a db.
He sent me a .mdb list written on msaccess.
I also have the same list on .sql file.

I need to add this list to a category which i created called "The List"

What is the best options?

Not putting it into copp db although that is possible in its own tables.

Coppermine only can use mysql as a database and not MS Access. You can allow .mdb as document file type in coppermine using the corresponding option in coppermine's config. You can not provide an MDB to accomplish anything else in coppermine. Not sure what your request actually is, as you failed to post reference to the Access file, so we can't know what it contains.

Not sure why i am confusing everyone

I am not using "db_copp01" except to run coppermine.
I have created "db_list01" on his domain "irishavsites.com"

He sent me a list of sites (1000 rows x 17 colums) in a .sql tables file and also in a .mdb tables file.

My question is what is my best option....

1..just upload the .mdb file into "The List" category or..

2..import the .sql file into db_list01 and when a visitor clicks "The List" it will read the db.

You failed to say what the data inside that extra database is suppossed to be used for. You failed to provide a sample of the access data as I suggested. Hence my answer remains the same: I have no idea what you're trying to accomplish. If you're trying to accomplish something else but uploading the access database file to your webspace as regular coppermine content, then you're probably stuck unless you're a coder and know your way around extremely well.

Your initial question is confusing and just invalid.

There is nothing inside the extra db. It is there in case the best option was to load the .sql tables file into it.
The list will be a reference and research file.

I have gone ahead anyway and uploaded the .mdb file into the category "The List"

However i find that coppermine is not allowing visitors to read this type of file without downloading it to msaccess!

This is unacceptable to his visitors and i shall attempt something else.

That's what I said. How could it. It's not a miraculous swiss army knife for opening files on the server.

Then what's the use of an empty file?

Clarify what exactly users are suppossed to do with that database file and we might be able to recommend something.
