I use lunarpages. I recently tried to replace an image in the 'userpics' folder only to find out I didn't have permissions. The info I got was that the PHP script is giving permissions to the person that uploaded and won't allow me (owner and administrator of the account) to change anything (using an ftp client) in the 'userpics' folder including files, names, permission settings etc.

I there a way in the php script to change permissions to 777 instead of 755 and will that solve my problem? If yes, what file and what script. I am not the most knowledgeable in this but can muddle my way through.

You can set the image permissions from within CPG's Config console.

LOL... I should open my eyes. Does that also change existing images and directories?

And even better, with permissions set to 777 and new images uploaded I still can't change them using an ftp client... rrrr... I am in touch with Lunar pages trying understand why I can't control any file on my server... I am sure it is probably operator error, lol...

hyperion

No, changing this value will only affect new images.
