Hi everybody

I searched the forums for help, but couldn't find a thread which would help me solve my problem.

In a nutshell, this is my problem:

I use Coppermine Photo Gallery (hosted with 1and1 at http://www.lincsbirds.co.uk/album/)
I installed the latest stable version of cpmfetch (copperminefetch-2.0.0 ).
I  installed it, added the php to my site (a phpbb forum and also hosted with 1and1 at http://www.lincsbirdclub.co.uk/forum/), and it works.

Now the problem,

Sometime when I click the images on http://www.lincsbirdclub.co.uk/forum/ I get the following error message (and other times it works fine!)

Error 500 - Internal server error
An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later.

There doesn't seem to be any consistancy to the error messge appearing (e.g. the same image may work one minute, and then may produce the error message the next??)

Is this a problem with my hosting or my code??

Thanks

John

Nice pictures on that site of yours. I would hate to see you loose them simply because you have not upgraded.

You are currently running version <!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.18 (stable)--> while the current release is 1.4.25.

While updating will not fix your hosing problems it will fix the know security holes that are currently leaving your site open to attack.

1and1 in the UK do not seem to have the same level of customer service that they have state side. A 500 server error says just that, a problem with the server. Give 1and1 an email and an exact time the error occurred and if you do manage to get a decent support guy/girl they should be able to tell you exactly what went wrong.

Before you do that, upgrade as per the docs, right now, this instant or preferably yesterday.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Upgraded - been meaning to do it for ages.... thanks for the prompt!

Also, now get a "The PHP setting register_globals is enabled on your server, which is a bad idea in terms of security. It's strongly recommended to turn it off." message, which is another 1and1 issue??

Thanks

Andrew

Just to let you know that I telephoned 1and1 and they talked me through adding a new .htaccess file to the root.

File name .htaccess

Content
AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

And, it appears to have sorted the issue??

So please lock topic

Thank you for coming back and resolving your post. Many users simply don't bother which is of no help to the community.

I have marked your thread as solved. In case you didn't realise, you can do that yourself on any thread you start simply by pressing the tick mark in your first post.
