I searched and read docs before posting but couldn't find a more appropriate forum or sub-forum that I have permissions to post in, my apologies.

Requesting to have my user name changed to something anonymous: steve2134, or steveASDF or something like that.

Click on Account Related Settings in your profile to change your name.
Click the Profile button or click your name in the post to get to your profile.

I did as suggested, however I don't have the option to change the name.

Hi Steve,

I have changed the name displayed to users but not your usernam so continue to logon with the same credentials. Hope that is OK. If you want the username changing as well I can do that but I am guessing you are doing it for search related reasons so it will probably not be required.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
