This is a IPB Theme I made by user request.
DaMysterious.

DaMysterious

This theme fits into most available phpNuke themes (except whites) as it is 'transparant' (without any colors) the structure of the gallery is show by thin tablelines only.

Thanks GauGau! Is'nt it v1.2.0-Nuke in place of (cpg1.1d_phpnuke_theme_nuked.zip)?
And may I mention that you forgot Digital Compare my first ccs-selector theme.
DaMysterious.

Joachim Müller

Sorry, this is of course an error on my part: I re-labelled the phpnuke-theme correctly and added "digital compare" (as well to the download section as the demo).

I messed around a bit with style.css. There was no indication wich pictures was viewed or not, so I changed following in style.css.

Search for

a:hover {
        color: #0033CC;
        text-decoration: underline;
}

and place the code below under it.

a:visited .image, a:visited .image1 {
        border-bottom: 2px solid #FF8C00;
        border-left: 0px solid #FF8C00;
        border-right: 2px solid #FF8C00;
        border-top: 0px solid #FF8C00;
        filter: Blur(Add=0, Strength=2);
}

a:hover .image, a:hover .image1 {
        border-bottom: #FFFFFF 1px solid;
        border-left: #FFFFFF 1px solid;
        border-right: #FFFFFF 1px solid;
        border-top: #FFFFFF 1px solid;
        filter: Blur(Add=0, Direction=135, Strength=3);
        moz-opacity: 0.5;
}

From now on every viewed/visitet picture is with colored border and blured. You can change the whole thing to you own taste.  :wink: LifeView

Hello.

Wow some awesome work here. It is very pleasing to the eye to visit boards and gallerys like these.

As i was trolling around looking at the demos.

I came across sythetic blue. The theme looks great to me. I have a little problem though, can someone help?

I very new to this so please if you choose to help be very explicit for me.

Ok now i go to download this that is fine i go to from what i gather. Unzip this into the theme directory. At this point i notice that there are some extra folders in there along with the files for synthetic blue out in the root theme directory. Not in a theme directoy of its own.

It has a read me file that says to unzip to the templete directory. Do you mean or does it mean to unzip like i did into the theme directory?

After that it says to then go to the control panel. Again does this mean to the configuration settings for the gallery or does it mean to the system control panel?

If both answers are to the theme directory and the configuration settings for the directory. Then i can understand that and have done that.

Now if that is correct then i go to use the theme sythetic blue but there is no theme listed as sythetic blue there.

So at this point i go and create a folder for sythetic blue called XXXXX or what ever. So now back to configuration settings now i find this folder in the theme options. I then choose it for my theme.

Now if all that is correct im assuming i should have a working sythetic blue theme, but what i wind up with is now lag viewing the pages in the gallery and no theme just some html content and the basic pictures no theme what so ever just a pure white background.

Ok now can you help me in figureing out where i went wrong?

I sure hope i gave you enough information to work on here. As far as i remember that is the exact sequence of what i did and understood.

Ok thanks for looking and or helping.
Ill check back later for info if any arises.

and again AWESOME WORK!!!!

how to get a theme working
  • download the package and save it somewhere on your hard drive
  • unzip it to your hard drive, leaving the folder structure  that has been set up inside the theme file intact.
You should have a folder somewhere on your hard drive that looks like this:+---name_of_the_theme_you_downloaded
      |
      +--images
      |
      +--style.css
      |
      +--template.html
      |
      +--theme.php
Some themes (like "Synthetic blue") come with extra folders in them. You'll need to put them somewhere else.
  • move the whole folder "name_of_the_theme_you_downloaded" into your folder /coppermine/themes (no spaces or other non-alphanumerical characters except the underscore in the folder name!)
  • upload the whole enchilada (with ftp)
  • use your browser to go to your coppermine gallery
  • log in as admin
  • admin mode
  • click on "config" in the admin menu
  • in the dropdown-list "Theme", choose the theme you just uploaded (it should show with the folder name that you created inside /coppermine/themes)
  • hit "save new configuration"
  • test-drive your new theme
  • [/list:u]
    Synthtic blue comes with some folders and files that usually don't exist in other themes: there's "icons", "images_english" in it - you might need to move them to other folders of your coppermine install - refer to the readme that comes with the theme.

Hiya and thank you for your reply
unfortunatly ive done what the readme file actually asks of me,
and even figured out that it is supposed to be in its own folder.
the problem is the readme file refers to things that are not in
coppermine from what i can see. it refers to a template direcrotry and a control panel. I was fairly sure that the other folders it has are supposed to go some other place but you see thats my problem exactly where do they go with out messing up the db or the program itself.
the sythetic blue zip does not decompress into its own folder rather it decompresses into the root folder you are decompressing too

so thats how i figured out that some of the files needed to go into a folder i created but what to do with the rest that is the question.

So even though it looks pretty sweet its hard to take a chance any further trying to get it to work with out detailed instructions on exactly whatt one is supposed to do with the extra files.

ive messed around with it a little every time i do it makes the server and db act a bit funny so really is not worth the effort to go any further with it.

Looks sweet but oh well i guess not for me or others who do not know exactly what to do with instructions that are clearly marked for another program or incorrect affiliation statments.

Thanks again for your attempt to help.

Joachim Müller

synthetic blue is a user contribution that is based on someone else's code - the disclaimer says the notes must remain intact, that's what DaMysterious did - he left them intact. The stuff from the readme simply doesn't apply to coppermine, but can't be removed.
Maybe you should have a look at some other theme, most of them are less complicated to get them working (and they load much faster - synthetic blue is overkill unless your users aren't on broadband connection).

I made Color Styler as 11 themes in 1 without the use of any graphics. You have the possibility to switch within this theme to several color styles via CSS-Selector.

Thanks again for the contribution - the Color Style theme can be viewed in our online demo and is also available in the download section. It's indeed very good work imo!

noginnskins1 looks very good imo - as usual it's in the download section and can be previewed in the demo. What license does this theme appear under? Is it freeware/linkware?

I don' know GauGau. The archive was send by a user of my board with the question to convert it to use with CPG. The only link I found in the archive points to http://noginn.com/home.html with no special license/copyright notice.

I just wanted to say that after I downloaded the caliSkinV6 theme and unzipped the files Windows XP always gets an explorer.exe error when I open up the folder or when the thumbnails try to load in Windows XP.  It then sends the error report.

I'm using CPG 1.2.1 and have been trying to design my own theme but to no avail I get frustrated because it's not graphically sound like I want it.  Going to try hardwired_tweak.  I wonder if I'm not suppose to use this theme since it's for an older version but there are only 3 themes available for my CPG version.
