Mirrored site with different themes

I am trying to set up mirror of my coppermine gallery (cpg1.5.16) that uses a different theme. All changes (except the theme) should be reflected on both sites. The purpose is to set up a mobile site and a regular site, but I don't want it to be automatic. My only thought at the moment is to symlink all the files except the theme, then use the same theme name, but with different files. Does anyone have a better/more effective way to do this?

Why don't you just add a "mobile / desktop" theme switch button at the top of your themes? IMO you don't need to set up a second gallery.
