Hi cpg experts, I migrated my website to a new server but with some slight issues, I solved most of them and need help for remained: 1- unless charset and collation is utf8 but some special characters are distorted 2- many of thumbnails and medium size files seem to be lost while I uploaded them completely via ftp. The original website address is idp.cu.cc and the migrated one is mam.cu.cc, regards

You can re-generate the thumbs/intermediate images using admin tools. It could have been caused by the windows/Linux case sensitivity issue but hard to say.

You did remember to run update.php I assume?
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

@Phill I did the update, regeneration couldn't help,
Quotecaused by the windows/Linux case sensitivity
you mean capital and small characters which windows doesn't care about? Both servers are bsd, just my pc runs windows and my ftp sw is filezilla.

Yes, when to transfer via windows files can get merged. If you zip them on one server then transfer them zipped via your win box the problem will not occur.

Thanks phill, missed photo problem was solved using zip convey. What can I do with character rendering error?

phill104

That is something I struggle with, hopefully one of the other team members can take a look.

@Phill Isn't it better to use wordpress approach in character rendering and localization? I'm not a pro-web-programmer, but I experienced this challenge with mybb, joomla, drupal and moodle before and you know: a burnt hand is the best teacher  ;)

If the character issue still exists, please explain it more detailed. If it's already fixed, please explain how you fixed it and tag this thread as solved.
