Number of columns setting for categories

We have setting for "Number of columns for the album list"  would it be possible to add a setting for Number of columns for categories.

As a core feature in next release please?

I second the motion ...

I did implement Αndré's suggestion, it's great on my curve theme.  I used 3 columns though, with some mods on the headers to fit :
