update.php -> Blank screen?! Version 1.5.28

Hi there,

i´ve done a lot of updates but now it is not working.

I was update from v1.5.X to 1.5.28. Uploading the files and run the update.php.
It just gives me a blank screen........... nothing happens.

So i was uploading all the files in binary mode again -> update.php gives me a blank screen again.

Setting all permissions in /include to 755 -> update.php gives me a blank screen.

So now i dont know whats the problem and how to slove this. Can anybody help me?

The blank screen will be because your server is setup to not show error messages.

Which version of PHP are you running? If it is PHP4 then you will need to apply a patch as it is only partially supported. If you are sure you are running PHP5 then please contact your host to get the full error message from their logs.

It is php 4.4.9

I think i will call my provider to settle over to php5..............

A good move. PHP4.x has not been supported for a number of years and has quite a few security issues now.

Upgrading to PHP5 fixed the issue.

Same problem! I tried to update my coppermine to the latest version and now my index.php page is blank. I've tried everything. Can someone could help me if I give you the password to my server? I really do not want to lose all the pic.

Please post more details. Do you run PHP4? If so, have you applied the PHP4 patch as described in the cpg1.5.30 announcement thread?
