Is Coppermine Right for me

First a big thankyou to the makers of Coppermine -- you've certainly filled a void.
My question is whether it is the right for us. We have a community of a few hundred running on phpBB and want to offer each of our members their own gallery to which they can add categories and albums. The key here is we want anyone to visit the site and view all the images by genre; so for example if I visit and I am looking specifically for trees there would be a page with just trees. The images are throughout all the members albums and delievered to me on one page.

Is this possible?
