i think it would be great if there were an album update function which updates the reslution of pictures in the database... because it´s a problem if you replace files with lower resolution....

you already got the answer on the thread you mentioned: you weren't supposed to fiddle with the files once they are in the database, so your request simply is not applicable.

but why? i think there are many people who were happy about this feature... maybe someones webspace is full and he wants to resize his pictures so that they need less storage.... if he creates every album new, he will lost the comments, the views, and the rates....

if you play by the "rules", this feature already exists: you're meant to modify your full-size pic and then use "resize intermediate and thumbnails" from the admin tools (resize utility).
