Upgrade from 1.5.24 (stable) to 1.6.x

Hi.
I have a great working coppermine 1.5.24 (stable) gallery and I want to upgrade to cpg1.6.x because of PHP7 support, but I don't know how? What files should I upload on my server because I want to upgrade not new install and I want to keep my files, images, settings.
