Hi,

Now you have 3 different user options:
You can be a guest, a member, and administrator.
Can I add a new option, that the user can edit and delete the comments, even as the administrator, but can't config the configuration options?

Joachim Müller

you can always add new groups in "groups" and asign rights to this group. Then, edit the users in question to be member of this new special group.

GauGau

P.S. stop starting new threads in the "general discussion" or "feature request" board. If you want support, then post on the support board! I'll move this post to "support", the next one goes to the crap bin!

lasa

Yeah, I know that, but I want that the user can edit comments but cannot edit the config.

Joachim Müller

he won't be able to edit the config (people who can do that are called "administrators"). Create a group with "Can post comments" set to yes. This way, they can edit their comments. Nobody but the admin can edit other users comments, and I can't think of a reason why users should be able to do so.

Because I want that a few other people can help me with managing the comments. Delete some comments and so on. Because of this reason, i don't want that the make misuse of their rank. So I want that they not delete some albums, or change anything in the config for the security...

Joachim Müller

so you're looking for a moderator feature? This isn't built into coppermine (yet) and can't be established that easily (with just a few lines of code).

GauGau

Yes, a moderator function with limit. No config editing, no deleting of pics/albums/cats...

Gaugau, one reason I think it would be very good to assign other people admin rights is because sometimes a site is so large that there should be several admins working on it..or at least someone who has create a new album/category priviliges. I know I need someone else to help me, but NOT help me administer the invision forum board. See what I mean?
