Which directory do I use?

Okay first I uploaded the script into my public_html dir, but I think that was wrong, i changed the privlages on the folder, but not the public_html dir. Then I just uploaded it into the main area, where the public_html and public_ftp folders are. But I dont know how to access the index.php file from here. What do I type in? server-ip/photoadmin/index/.php? Cause that wont work. And my domain name wont work of course cause its not in my Public_html folder.

ok, make a folder in your public_html folder.....

i did mine as gallery instead of coppermine....then upload all the files to the gallery folder, and folllow the instructions as before

Yes i did that and i set that folders permissions to 777 but i cant have my public_html folder be 777 thats a security risk for sure.

Im getting messages about it like this:

The 'include' directory (located in the directory where you uploaded Coppermine) should be writable in order to save your configuration. Use your FTP program to change its mode to 777.

Actually i think its cause the sub folders arent set as 777 sorry lol.
