Ok, i will try to explain the problem as good as i can:
I downloaded the latest version of Coppermine, unzipped it, and installed it. Everything went fine, until i wanted to login. I used the username and password i set when i installed it, and everything seems fine, it event says "Welcome B3nd1k", but when i press continue, it is like i havent logged in. There is still a login-link, no logout, upload or anything else. I am running this on a localhost apache-server.
-Apache Version 2.0
-PHP Version 4.2.2
-Both GD1 and Imagemagick
-MySQL 4.0.1
I have tried everything.. I have cleared all cookies, enabled cookies and enabled lots of other stuff. I have checked my system date and time.
Please, if anyone can help me, do it, cause i cant think of anything else to do to make it work :(

B3nd1k

And btw, i have tried to login in both Opera and IE with no succes :(

temporarily disable all third party software like virus scanners, cookie cleaners, personal fire walls etc. that might stop the cookies to work. There might as well be issues with your server setup (since you're running on localhost). Try accessing by hostname or IP address and make sure that your local webserver generally doesn't have issues with cookies (you could test-install another php script that uses cookies for authentification as well).

I have F-Secure installed. I tried to unload all F-Secure products, but with no success :(
I have succesfully installed IPB, and managed to login and post, use the amin section, so i dont think it can be a cookies problem either :(
Are there any cookies options that need to be set in php.ini?

B3nd1k

I dont know if it has anything to say, but i have installed the server using Foxserv (to lazy to set everything up myself). Maybe there are some default settings i need to change to make Coppermine work?

Joachim Müller

sounds possible - if I remember correctly, there used to be issues for other users with FoxServe as well. I have no experience with this server, can't tell you what needs to be changed, sorry.

Oh damn, looks like i need to do it the hard way then, by installing apache, php, mysql and all those things separatly  ::)
If ANYONE who reads this had the same problem as me using FoxServ, and managed to solve it, please respond :)

Joachim Müller

I recommend you go for a WAMP/LAMP package that installs Apache/MySQL/PHP in one go.

Ahh, no it works! :) THanks for the help mate :)

Sorry to bump this post up.
But I have exaclty the same problem. See the start of the post, I couldnt say it better!

Also running on localhost, loaded with FoxServ.

I know its not cookie settings. All settings checked, firewall off etc. & cookies work on other php sites Im running.

B3nd1k. It seems you found the answer but I dont see it here, or anywhere else on the board!
If you are still on this thread howd you fix it?

Does anybody else know the answer?

Thanks

Joachim Müller

search the entire forum for "FoxServ", I think this has been reported before...

Thank you for the quick reply.

I have spent many a happy hour searching the boards.
I didnt post till I was sure I couldnt find an answer.

There are a few threads on this topic & it does seem that most have been solved, but there is no posts on how the problems were solved. Odd!

If anyone has had this problem & fixed it, please let me know.

Thanks
