View comments on home page

I'm very new to this so apologies if this has been answered elsewhere - or posted in the wrong spot

Is it possible to view the last view comments on the coppermine home page - or at least have number of comments under each thumbnail on the home page rather than opening each album.

In a nut what I guess I'm asking is - from the home page can you tell which thunbnails etc have had the most recent comments added - phew - hope you get my drift
