Help!! Can't add pictures to my gallery!!

When I try to add a picture to the gallery I get the following error message:

The file you have uploaded is not a valid image !

File: /www/euroll/netmission/modules/coppermine/db_input.php - Line: 285

I'm sure that the picture I tried to add was 100%-valid.

Please, help!!!

check CHMOD on the upload folder of the gallery is at 777

When I go to see the folders with a FTP-client, I can see that the images are there. I also checked that the permissions are "777".

sometime I couldnt add pics via batch upload. I then loaded this pics in a graphic program and saved them, changing some parameters like huffman etc (dontd know anything about that!) .. then I uploaded them again and startet bacth - and they could be added to the gallery -.-.-. sometimes it helps to change a pic from jpg to gif and back -..-.-
