Title: SOLVED: Successful upload - red X displays
Post by: spikeswife on September 15, 2004, 09:28:38 PM
I've been trying to get image uploads working all day.  I've made absolutely certain that my directory and file permissions are exactly as required.  I checked and re-checked info.php to make sure my host supports CPG (found that upload_tmp_dir displays no value and don't know what that means).  Each time I attempt a file upload I get a success message "1 uploads were successful. Please click 'Continue' to add the files to albums." but when I click on continue the result is a page that offers to allow me to add info about the photo and a small box with a red X.  Here's the debug info on the successful upload page:

Can anyone offer any suggestions?  I can post further debug reports, if needed.  Thanks!

How big are these pics.  Please try with a known good pic, of small size.  Try copying one from the demo and use that.

Each is less than 100kb in size.  The largest is about 79kb.  I doubt that size is the issue.

Not just filesize, pixel size is important as well.

Are you referring to pixel width/height?  None were greater than 600, most were in the 350 pixel range.  All were saved at 72 dpi.  It's pert near impossible to see an image of the type I plan to have posted smaller than 600 pixels so I have to be able to figure this out without requiring that everyone upload tiny images.

I've created a test account (User = test, PW = test) so it can be tested by anyone who thinks they may be able to help.  The URL is http://www.scrapbookingresourcecenter.com/coppermine/ .  Thanks, in advance, for any help offered.

The thumbnails are created, but your server returns a '403 Forbidden' when the browser attempts to load them from the page.

See (http://www.scrapbookingresourcecenter.com/coppermine/albums/userpics/10001/thumb_bourbonstreet.jpg).

So, does that mean you're actually seeing the image as a thumbnail?  Or do you see the red X as well?  Have I done CHMOD incorrectly?  Does anyone know what I might have done wrong to get this result?

Check permissions of the files and the /albums and /userpics folders.

PM me an ftp login if you'd like me to take a look for you.

Resolved. Cause was hotlink protection.
